2018-19 CHALLENGE CALENDAR

Here are the start, finish, and prize giving dates for the Stellar Fitness Challenges for 2018/2019, along with a bit of information about them. Registrations open 3 weeks prior to each challenge commencing.

JUNE/JULY 2018:

8-WEEK FITNESS CHALLENGE

START & FINISH DATES: 

WEIGH-IN AND INITIAL TESTING: 5:45-6:25PM, Monday, 11 June - Newlands Primary School hall.

RE-TESTING: 5:45-6:25PM, Monday, 6 August, 2018

PRIZE-GIVING: 6:25PM, Monday, 13 August, 2018

COST: $40 for the 8 weeks.

HOW IT WORKS: This is a great challenge if you want something to help keep you motivated to exercise over winter, or to increase your fitness levels. There are several tools offered for you to use, none of which are compulsory. They include:

  •  A booklet that has worksheets in it to fill out over the duration of the challenge. Each sheet has a table, containing all the different aspects of a healthy lifestyle (for example, having no sugar, no alcohol, eating green veggies, doing 30 minutes of exercise, drinking water, completing your weekly exercise task, etc), and each of these has a different point value. At the end of each day you add in the points for each healthy habit that you managed to do, and will text me the total points for the week.
  • There is a 'testing' exercise at the beginning of the challenge (this commences prior to my Monday circuit class), which I will time you doing (it won't take any more than 2-3 minutes). You will repeat the exercise at the end of the 8 weeks, to compare results. Lower impact options are given, so all fitness levels are able to do it.
  • Each week, I send out an exercise task that increases over the 8 weeks. This is designed to help increase your fitness levels, if that is what you are aiming for..it's also a great little workout that you can do at home if you can't get out the house to exercise.  :)

  •  If weight loss or maintenence is a goal, then there is the option of weighing it..at the start of the challenge, at the halfway point, and at the end of the challenge. Any points earnt will also go towards your overall total.

The cash prize for this challenge will be earnt through the points system. Along with the weekly points that you are able to earn through the booklet sheets, you will be able to earn points for any weight lost, and also the time improved in the fitness test, which will go towards your overall total. 

CRITERIA: There is a fortnightly attendance requirement, of a minimum of 1 class attended every 2 weeks. In regards to the fitness test, there are options offered for people that have injuries. When performing the initial testing exercise, you must do it as fast as you can...anyone deliberately doing it slowly will be disqualified. 

The cash prize for the person who has earnt the most amount of points which will be announced the following Monday night before the Circuit class, and final testing/weight lost/total points results will be emailed out that week.

SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER, 2018:

SPRING-INTO-SUMMER 12 WEEK TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE

START DATE & FINAL WEIGH-IN: Monday, 3 September - Monday, 26 November, 2018 - Newlands Primary School hall

PRIZE-GIVING: Monday, 3 December, 2018

COST: $40 per person for the whole 12 weeks.

HOW IT WORKS: You will receive a registration pack filled with lots of information relating to healthy eating and exercise, and includes a healthy eating plan to follow,  weekly weigh-ins, daily motivational texts, weekly emails, weekly tasks that are focused on all areas of health and fitness. Whether your goal is to adapt healthy eating habits,  lose weight, or maintain the weight that you've already lost, it contains all the necessary information to help achieve this. 

There are 1st, 2nd and 3rd cash prizes to be won, along with vouchers for Stellar Fitness classes

CRITERIA: You must attend the initial and final weigh-ins. The weekly weigh-ins are NOT compulsory, but to stay in the challenge, (and to continue to receive all of the additional information that Stellar Fitness provides, and attend the weigh-ins),  you must attend at least 1 Stellar Fitness class every week.

DECEMBER 2018 - JANUARY, 2019:

8-WEEK FESTIVE CHALLENGE

REGISTRATIONS OPEN: Monday, 19 November, 2018

START DATE & FINAL WEIGH-IN: Monday, 10 December - Monday, 4 February, 2019

PRIZE-GIVING: Monday, 11 February, 2019

COST: $40 per person for the whole 8 weeks.

HOW IT WORKS: This challenge is designed to help keep you focused on healthy lifestyle habits over the festive season, whether it be just maintain your current weight or to continue on your weight loss journey. Upon initial weigh-in, you will receive a booklet with 8 weeks of worksheets. Each sheet has a table, containing all the different aspects of a healthy lifestyle (for example, having no sugar, no alcohol, eating green veggies, doing 30 minutes of exercise, drinking water, etc), and each of these has a different point value. 

At the end of each day you add in the points for each healthy habit that you managed to do. It is for 6 days a week - you get 1 free day a week to indulge - after all, it is the festive season! Every week there are also ''double points'' for certain things. There are 2 cash prizes - 1 for the most points accrued, and 1 for the greatest percentage of weight lost.

To help keep you motivated and focused, you will receive a daily text to help set up a great mindset for the day.  :)

CRITERIA: There is a fortnightly attendance requirement, of a minimum of 1 class attended every 2 weeks. However, if you are going to be away for longer than 2 weeks, you will have the opportunity to make up the missed class/es. There are weekly weigh-ins, from 5:45-6:20pm (before the Monday Circuit class), which are NOT compulsory to attend (but highly recommended!), and you will need to attend the final weigh-in in order to complete the challenge. 

You must submit your total points for the week by midnight each Monday, otherwise you will be marked with 0 points for that week.

FEBRUARY - MAY, 2018:

LOSE-WEIGHT-FOR-WINTER TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE

REGISTRATIONS OPEN: Monday, 4 Febuary, 2019

START DATE & FINAL WEIGH-IN: Monday, 25 February - Monday, 20 May, 2019 - Newlands Primary  School hall

PRIZE-GIVING: Monday, 27 May, 2019

COST: $40 per person for the whole 12 weeks.
