2021/22 CHALLENGE CALENDAR 

Here are the NEW dates for the Stellar Fitness 8-week Challenges for 2021/22, along with a bit of information about them. Registrations open 3 weeks prior to each challenge commencing.



JUNE/JULY 2021:

8-WEEK WINTER WARM-UP/FITNESS CHALLENGE

WEIGH-IN AND INITIAL FITNESS TESTING: 5:45-6:25PM, Monday, 14 June - Newlands Primary School hall.

RE-TESTING AND FINAL WEIGH-IN: 5:45-6:25PM, Monday, 9 August, 2021

COST: $40 to register.

HOW IT WORKS: This is a great challenge if you want to focus on losing weight over winter, or something to help keep you motivated to exercise in the colder months, or to increase your fitness levels. There are 2 categories to choose from: WEIGHT LOSS CATEGORY or the FITNESS CATEGORY. Both of these have several tools offered for you to use, none of which are compulsory. 

They include: 

WEIGHT LOSS CATEGORY:

  • A pdf booklet that has worksheets in it to fill out over the duration of the challenge. Each sheet has a table, containing all the different aspects of a healthy lifestyle (for example, having no sugar, no alcohol, eating green veggies, doing 30 minutes of exercise, drinking water, etc), and each of these has a different point value. At the end of each day you add in the points for each healthy habit that you managed to do, and will let me know the total points for the week.
  • A healthy food list for you to create your balanced meals from.
  • Optional weekly weigh-ins (from 6pm on a Monday night, before the Circuit class). You can also earn points for weight lost for that week...however, points will be deducted if you gain over a certain amount of weight from your last weigh-in. You cannot earn weight-loss points until you are back at your lowest weight. The initial and final weigh-ins are compulsory to be eligible for the cash prize.

The cash prize for this challenge will be earnt through the points system. Along with the weekly points that you are able to earn through the booklet sheets, you will be able to earn points for any weight lost, which will go towards your overall total. The FINAL weigh-in points will be calculated from the OVERALL PERCENTAGE OF WEIGHT LOST, not actual kilos.


FITNESS CATEGORY:

  • A pdf booklet that has worksheets in it to fill out over the duration of the challenge. Each sheet has a table, containing all the different aspects of a healthy lifestyle (for example, having no sugar, no alcohol, eating green veggies, doing 30 minutes of exercise, completing your weekly exercise task, drinking water, etc), and each of these has a different point value. At the end of each day you add in the points for each healthy habit that you managed to do, and will let me know the total points for the week. A healthy food list for you to create your balanced meals from.
  • There is a 'testing' exercise at the beginning of the challenge (this commences prior to my Monday circuit class), which I will time you doing (it won't take any more than 2-3 minutes). You will repeat the exercise at the end of the 8 weeks, to compare results. Lower impact options are given, so all fitness levels are able to do it. The results will be based on a % OF IMPROVED TIME, not actual seconds improved. 
  • Each week, I send out an exercise task that increases over the 8 weeks. This is designed to help increase your fitness levels, if that is what you are aiming for..it's also a great little workout that you can do at home if you can't get out the house to exercise.  :)
  •  If weight loss or maintenance is a goal, then there is the option of weighing in..at the start of the challenge, and at the end of the challenge, although this is just for your own accountability - you won't earn any points from it.

The cash prize for this challenge will be earnt through the points system. Along with the weekly points that you are able to earn through the booklet sheets, for the % of time improved in the fitness test, which will go towards your overall total. 


CRITERIA FOR BOTH CATEGORIES: You must let me know prior to the challenge commencing which category you would like to participate in, and you must commit to that category for the 8 weeks.  

There is a class attendance criteria (classes are $10 each) of a minimum of 1 class a week. In the event that you cannot attend a weekly class due to illness, you will be able to 'make up' that class attendance by attending an additional class the following week. 

In regards to the fitness test, there are options offered for people that have injuries. When performing the initial testing exercise, you must do it as fast as you can...anyone deliberately doing it slowly will be disqualified. 

You must submit the weekly points to Kat by the day/time stipulated, otherwise you will receive a 0 for that week.

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER, 2021

8 WEEK SUMMER SHAPE-UP CHALLENGE

START DATE & FINAL WEIGH-IN: Monday, 5 September - Monday, 30 October, 2021 - Newlands Primary School hall

COST: $40 to register.

HOW IT WORKS: You will receive a pdf booklet filled with lots of information relating to healthy eating and exercise, and includes a healthy eating plan to follow,  weekly weigh-ins, access to the secret Facebook group, motivational texts, and weekly tasks that are focused on all areas of health and fitness. Whether your goal is to adapt healthy eating habits, lose weight, or maintain the weight that you've already lost, it contains all the necessary information to help achieve this. 

There are 1st, 2nd and 3rd cash prizes to be won, along with vouchers for Stellar Fitness classes

CRITERIA: You must attend the initial and final weigh-ins. The weekly weigh-ins are NOT compulsory, but to stay in the challenge, (and to continue to receive all of the additional information that Stellar Fitness provides, and attend the weigh-ins),  you must attend at least 1 Stellar Fitness class every week.

NOVEMBER 2021/JANUARY, 2022:


8-WEEK HOLIDAY SURVIVAL FESTIVE CHALLENGE

REGISTRATIONS OPEN: Monday, 1 November, 2021

START DATE & FINAL WEIGH-IN: Monday, 28 November - Monday, 23rd January, 2022

COST: $40 to register

HOW IT WORKS: This challenge is designed to help keep you focused on healthy lifestyle habits over the festive season, whether it be just maintain your current weight or to continue on your weight loss journey. Once you have attended the initial weigh-in, you will receive a pdf booklet with 8 weeks of worksheets. Each sheet has a table, containing all the different aspects of a healthy lifestyle (for example, having no sugar, no alcohol, eating green veggies, doing 30 minutes of exercise, drinking water, etc), and each of these has a different point value. 

At the end of each day you add in the points for each healthy habit that you managed to do. It is for 6 days a week - you get 1 free day a week to indulge - after all, it is the festive season! Every week there are also ''double points'' for certain things. There are 2 cash prizes - 1 for the most points accrued, and 1 for the greatest percentage of weight lost.

To help keep you motivated and focused, you will receive  texts throughout the Challenge to help set up a great mindset for the day.  :)

CRITERIA: There is a weekly attendance requirement, of a minimum of 1 class to be attended. However, if you are going to be away and will miss your weekly class/es, you will have the opportunity to make up the missed classes by attending additional classes when you return. There are weekly weigh-ins, from 6-6:20pm (before the Monday Circuit class), which are NOT compulsory to attend (but highly recommended!), and you will need to attend the final weigh-in in order to complete the challenge. 

You must submit your total points for the week by the day/tine stipulated by Kat, otherwise you will be marked with 0 points for that week.

FEBRUARY/APRIL, 2022:

8-WEEK FALL INTO WINTER TRANSFORMATION  CHALLENGE
